Community Input

Community consultation is an important component of the Flood Study. The local knowledge of residents and business operators personal experiences of flooding is an important source of information. We are specifically interested in historical records of flooding such as photographs, flood marks or observations that residents may have.

There are a number of ways you can be involved in the study:

  1. Please take a few minutes of your time to complete the online questionnaire or printable version. This will greatly assist in collating people's knowledge and experience about previous flooding history and existing flood problem areas.
  2.

  3. A Floodplain Risk Management Committee will be include community representatives. Please contact Council to participate or to obtain the contact details of the community representatives. The FRMC will act as a forum for the discussion of technical, economic and environmental issues in an advisory role to Council.
  4.

  5. This website has been established to keep the community informed on the study progress. Community members will also be able to email WMAwater or mail their views and comments to WMA Water so they can be considered during the course of the study.
